Description:
A pair of Skimmer dragonflies: a Slaty Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula incesta), shown upper-left, highlighted in black; a Spangled Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula cyanea), shown lower-right, highlighted in blue. The Slaty Skimmer has black pterostigmas located on the leading edge of all four wings, toward the wingtips; the Spangled Skimmer has black and white pterostigmas located on the leading edge of all four wings, toward the wingtips. Photo 1 of 2 is a copy of the original photograph, annotated to identify the dragonflies; Photo 2 of 2 is the original photograph, cropped to highlight the dragonflies.
