Field Notes

Description:

Most of the mushrooms had uplifted caps with decurrent gills, while a few had depressed caps. The centers of the caps were dark brown with yellowish-orange near the margins. Stipes were thick and brown.

Habitat:

There was a cluster of 8 of these mushrooms growing around the base of a cut log. The log was between a river and a meadow.
