Field Notes

Description:

Yellowish top with brown spots. This one had a bit of rot on it from the stick that had layed across it. Underside is pores, this particular one is mature (I would assume) the pores are very open and noticeable. These were growing by the hundreds.

Habitat:

Mixed conifer and hardwoods, clay soil

Species ID Suggestions

Suillus sp.

I was looking at Suillus Lakei in my book...what do ya think of that one? I will need to go collect one, get spore print and see how they bruise, what meat looks like, etc... but it sure looks good so far!
