Description:
Spotted preying on a Cabbage White butterfly that was trapped by the spider's web.
The Cross Orb-weaver was introduced in the U.S. from Northern Europe & is also known as the European garden spider.
They generally prey on larger flying insects such as butterflies, wasps & flies.
Habitat:
Gardens, fields and forests.
