Description:

The Social Flycatcher is passerine bird from the Americas.

Habitat:

Inhabits plantations, pasture with some trees, and open woodland from northwestern Mexico south to northeastern Peru, southern Brazil and northwestern Argentina.

Notes:

The call is a sharp peeurrr and the dawn song is a chips-k’-cheery. Their nest is often built near a wasp, bee or ant nest, or the nest of another tyrant flycatcher. The nest site is often near or over water.

They were spotted in the same tree, but I had never seen the baby one before.
I mean their home ranges. Maybe one lives in one kind of environment and the other lives in a slightly different but close environment. This could be an example of speciation; maybe one of these species is an offshoot of the other.
Wow, I didn't know they were that "close", they almost look the same! Can you tell me about what's micro-range, Ava?
It is also possibly a close relative of the social flycatcher, the Rusty-margined Flycatcher. I'm not sure how you'd tell them apart; maybe by micro-range?
I thought they were the same species, Liam! It is definitely a Social flycatcher, but the San Andres vireo is native to the San Andres Island, which is a colombian island, but it is in the Caribbean sea near Nicaragua. I'm gonna take a look to the other vireos. Thanks a lot!
