in portuguese there are 3 names, Echevéria, rosa-de-pedra(stone rose), bola-de-neve-mexicana (mexican snowball)normaly ,even in small regions like portugal, the popular names for plants and animals, are very diferents from each other
I have never grown these before but I would think they need a lot of light, well drained soil and more water if the weather is hot and dry. They prefer a dry climate.
i dont know the portuguese name for the echeveria, the spot i made that you id for me has only the flower plant, and now the plant is like the one of your spot ,do you know the conditions to the grow of the flower,i think it past some time since the apereance of the last flower
I've never heard this Echeveria called Desert Rose ( I don't think you mean dessert rose?), but I'm learning many species share the same common name. For Desert Rose usually refers to Adenium obesum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adenium_obesum
