Field Notes

Description:

Small green fruiting bodies with squishy, jelly-like tops. Stalk thin and tough. Tops turn black and leathery as they age. ~1.5cm tall. Anyone familiar with these strange little fungi?

Habitat:

Growing in a moss and lichen mat in my front yard, near a dogwood tree and red oak.
