Description:

One of my first insect photos. Not the clearest in the world and not macro, but I got her flying and with a big ball of pollen. I love this one. I think this one got me hooked on trying to find other insects in my accidental but delightful hobby.

The only honey bees found in North America are the Western (European) honey bee, Apis mellifera. This lovely lady (yes, all the workers you see are female) is A. mellifera.
