Description:

Found at a beach in Lake Erie

I'm not an ornithologist so I'm not 100% positive on the feather ID but I cross checked it against other large birds that visit the lakeshore (cormorants, turkey vultures, ospreys etc.) and bald eagle was the closest match I could find, and I was quite astounded!

I used the feather scans from FWS to make an ID :

I returned the feather to the water as per the MBTA
