Field Notes

Description:

A large bird (about 70cm) with black-and-white plumage. The hornbill's trademark is its large, long bill. The Oriental pied-hornbill is listed as 'Critically Endangered' in the Red List of threatened animals of Singapore.

Habitat:

Prefers more open habitat such as forest edge, clearings and secondary forest.

Notes:

Spotted on a days walk today in Sungei Buloh Wetkand Reserve
