Description:

D.linearis is a common fern and is most widely distributed fern in the Old World tropic, it can easily grow on nutrient-poor soil and are a very productive member of the forest ecosystem, despite the low biomass it can in some areas account for over half of the productivity.

Habitat:

Kanneliya–Dediyagala–Nakiyadeniya, dense rainforest.

Notes:

Kanneliya forest reserve was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2004 and is one of the last of the largest rainforests in Sri Lanka with Sinharaja rainforest. The rainforest house many endemic species of both flora and fauna. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanneliya%......
