Description:

smooth oblong nuts withblack streaks about 1 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide

Habitat:

spotted under and on tall tree

Notes:

the first photo shows a nut possibly dropped by a squirrel; the second two nuts, one with the hard hull still attached, and the third an unripe nut and empty hulls still on the tree
