Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica

Notes:

This bromeliad is typically used in fence lines to keep people out and cows in properties. it has a fruit that I have never tried. it is one of the most beautiful bromeliads I have seen.

I just looked at the Puya. They are amazing. I can't imagen a brom. up to 10 meters tall.
You reminded me of a renowned plantsman here in the UK who has a large clump of a Puya species (another aggressively armoured Brom.), just in front of his gas meter!
