Description:
Has a number of solid bones (unlike normally hollow avian bones), which add weight but help in diving.

Notes:
These loons cruised by our campsite on my last morning in Algonquin provincial park. I've often seen loons there, but they were always too far away to photograph. These were still at a distance but the closest I've seen them, so I did crop the first photos a little.
