Field Notes

Description:

I see these fellows at all stages all the time and thought they were different species until I found this couple. The male is yellow and the female is beige with brown markings. This pair hopped all over the place remaining in amplexus.

Habitat:

Garden area near the wetlands, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Notes:

Ashley Help! Is this the Gulf Coast Toad (Incilius valliceps)? Pictures of them are all so variable. Even at this elevation? If so, my other toad spottings are the same species?
