Field Notes

Description:

A very colorful butterfly with broken bands of white and orange towards the end of the wing, and the middle. There is a black line towards the end, and a black section in the middle. Towards the base is more of a mottled orange and white mix.

Habitat:

Somewhere around halfway down Mombacho Volcano this, and many other types of butterflies, were variously settling on cultivated flowers outside of a coffee shop. The area is cloudy, often rainy, but at an elevation that was still fairly warm.

Notes:

All the angles I have.

No, I really don't think that it would range so far south. Can you give me an idea of what it looks like when the wings are open?
You can ask to Noah Ranger Sarah http://www.projectnoah.org/users/1Sarah2 I dont have enough knowledge on butterflies just copy the link of your spotting in one of her spottings ans ask for her help, I hope you can get the answer.
I can not give you an answer for that, im just sugesting the ID because it has same looking on the website but the import and export of butterflies can be the reason to see many different species far away their habitat
@Ismael - do Lorquin's Admiral butterflies come that far south? The furthest I can find record for them is into Baja Mexico.
Lovely spot! Welcome to Project Noah!
