Description:
Sleeping monkeys. Hard to gauge their size as I couldn't get any closer, but definitely a few adults and at least the one baby. Obvious orange-gold markings on their backs, approaching their shoulders. They made no noise and paid us no attention, but as I said, sleeping monkeys.
Habitat:
These monkeys in a well-kept area of trees surrounded by more or less open jungle to one side, and coffee plantations to the other. This near the base of Mombacho Volcano where the land flattened out, but the locals said that they move up and down the side of the volcano as the temperature changes.
Notes:
The trees these monkeys were sleeping in are left undisturbed because they are in the middle of a zip-line course. Definitely an extra treat to see when you are rushing through the open air.
