Field Notes

Description:

Saw several sweetgums exhibiting this color pattern, yellow leaves on the interior and deep purple on the peripheral leaves.

Notes:

Sweetgum gets it's name from the use of it's sap as a chewing gum, also the leaves and seeds are edible.
