Description:

After all this time, I still have not confirmed an ID even with these two good photos of this very small butterfly. I am leaning toward the Skipper type butterflies. The Hobomok Skipper (Hobomok Poanes) looks the most like my butterfly) (Fiery Skipper also) (Only 1 inch)

Habitat:

Meadow in the Poconos

Wow! I really thought Hobomok. Checking ID's on this one for a long time. You are right - insane to identify, but based on more internet photos -Peck's Skipper. Thanks so much! Now I can sleep at nights. HA!
These guys are a nightmare to identify! My best guess would be a Peck's skipper based upon the pale fringe on the edge of the wings which the Hobomok doesn't have. It definitely isn't a fiery skipper as they have streaks not patches!
