Field Notes

Description:

This toad was about 3 inches long, had some little horns on his head and some definite signature bumps further back. Also, a light brown stripe down the middle of his back. There was some black coloration on his legs and sides, too. Definitely a noisemaker at night.

Habitat:

This guy was found hiding at the base of an older house in an extravagant, naturally cared for yard, just a few steps from a pond surrounded by rocks - I think he lives in there somewhere. I was lucky to catch him with a bit of light, as this toad only seems to pop out at night.
