Found during herp trapping surveys in the Ozarks during a rainy October, posed on this leaf.

Habitat:

deciduous forest, southern Missouri Ozarks

I love salamanders! I don't think I'd ever seen any in the wild until I started trapping them for field jobs.
Beautiful! I am so excited too. I found my first amphibian today. (Almost forgot how to spell it. HA!) It is also a salamander. But yours is prettier. HA!
