Field Notes

Description:

Clusters of these mystery mushrooms on long thin stalks were on woodchips lining a path.

Habitat:

Woodchips lining walking path in the Ravine, Prospect Park.

Notes:

Black gills with white edges. Tried taking spore print but they shriveled up. Note striation from margin of cap. Note "triangular veil remnants at cap margin", is this a sign of Panaeolus? A picture of the cap underside is next for you to get a closer look.
