Field Notes

Description:

A mottled grayish brown, with a black throat, face, and beak and 2 white streaks along face.

Habitat:

Found only in the southwest. Lives in desert habitats and feeds on seeds and insects.

Notes:

Was in a feeding frenzy which included finches, other sparrows, quail grackles, and cowbirds.
