@ Cindy this looks like' Coprinopsis atramentaria"
they have me stumped as much as the snails do. I plan to borrow a book from the library on snails. In this spotting the cap is more tubular than umbrella shaped and it is not fused to the stem like in shaggy mane.
Cindy ,having seen about 6 species in the last two days, i can say quite confidently that there is definitely a difference in the caps between the two spottings. In my spottings the cap structure is more on the side of a shaggy mane.
