A lot bigger than a pigeon! At least total of 8-10 inches.
It's not a skull is the pelvis of some kind of bird, depending on the size, I would say it'a a pigeon... but not sure: http://www.sciencemag.org/content/278/5341/1267/F6/graphic-7.small.gif For sure though it's the pelvic bone of a bird of some kind.
