Hairy Woodpeckers

These three hairy woodpeckers were flying around each other making a racket in a tree overhead and then just stopping for a while. There were two males and a female. They are a small woodpecker with black and white upperparts, white underparts. Male has red patch on the back of head. They look a lot like a smaller woodpecker the Downy and the best way to tell the difference when they are not beside each other is in the beak. The Hairy's beak is longer compared to their head than the downy.
