I can't say enough about the wildlife loop in Custer State Park, South Dakota...great wildlife viewing for the family.

They are a bit forward, aren't they? I had one of these burros, a number of years ago, stick its head in the open car window and really insist on a treat. He didn't get one, but left behind copious amounts of saliva on the passenger seat in his anticipation of something tasty....
Yes, we also saw the burros...they didn't take well to being ignored and made a point to introduce themselves to us.
I agree. I've been around the Wildlife Loop here on numerous occasions and it has to be one of the most wildlife-dense places I've ever been. I was there just a couple of weeks ago and photographed golden eagles, prairie dogs, pronghorns, whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, bison, and we mustn't forget the feral burros! grin....
