orange long legged fly
Condylostylus spp
1.35468, 103.776
Field Notes
Description:
They’re called long-legged flies because the legs are disproportionately long with respect to the small 5mm bodies. I was impressed by the metallic gold coloration shading to a sky blue at the abdomen tip, and the distinct banding along the abdomen, and that metallic coloration is one of the features of the family.
Habitat:
Bush
Notes:
I found this lovely looking metallic fly on a bush. Its not the best macro shot but I could not get too close without him flying off.
