Description:

Family: Araneidae (Orb Weaver) Also known as writing spider or corn spider. Female. Length of abdomen not including legs: 19-28 mm (up to 1.1 inches). Black and yellow abdomen mask design. Brown/reddish legs. Makes beautiful circular webs up to 2 feet (60 cm) in diameter. Wrapping prey. Silk squirting from abdomen. Common. Harmless to humans.

Habitat:

Sunny meadow with plentiful weeds and plants.
