Field Notes

Description:

Quite large, noisy birds found on both slopes in Ecuador and across the top half of S.America. You can normally hear them, even if you can't see them. Their colours and call make a great introduction for non-experts.

Habitat:

Humid forests and borders.

Notes:

Listed as LC and locally fairly common. Photo by Joao Krajewski, taken at Santa Lucia.
