Description:

Beneficial predatory stink bug that feeds on a wide variety of insects (including gypsy moths) & agricultural pests.
*Note the black streak on the wing membrane where the wings overlap - this is important to identifying Spined Soldier bugs so as not to confuse them with herbivorous stink bugs.

Habitat:

Based on its predatory nature, usually in crops & gardens where its prey lives. Spotted on Heliopsis.
