Description:

I was actually trying to photograph this flower when the bee landed on it. I love the colour of it's wings and all the pollen collecting on its back

dear Trani, i want to know what about bombidae
Hi R.p.Mainali. I´m a taxonomist and have been working with bees for more than ten years. Xilocopidae is not a family, it should be Xylocopinae, wich is a subfamily on Apidae.
Xylocopa used to be in the family Anthophoridae, but is now in subfamily Xylocopinae within the family Apidae.
I think it is Xylocopa aestuans , some taxonomist placed it in apidae, but some on bombidae, so i get confused. so i need exact solution from taxonomist. In Nepal, it acts as good polllinator on many vegetable and found significantly during rainny season
This looks like a carpenter bee, genus Xylocopa. Beautiful photos!
