Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized moth, black and white wings, dark red eyes.

Habitat:

Introduced into Europe from east Asia. Caterpillars on box trees (Buxus).

Notes:

This one was sitting on our fence for hours, and did not move even when I came close to take a picture.
