Field Notes

Description:

Two individuals, in last instar as larvae (5th instar). I found them wandering, probably looking for a place to burrow and pupate. They won't emerge till spring. When they do, they'll be gorgeous moths - fuzzy, with coloring either yellow-orange and pink (if female) or reddish-brown (if male).
