Description:
Bright white fragrant flowers.
Habitat:
This spotting growing as an ornamental in a semi-urban yard & garden. Equatorial/tropical climate.
Notes:
Some members of the Gardenia sp. (family Rubiaceae) and the Tabernaemontana sp. (family Apocynaceae) look very similar in both flowers and leaves! It doesn't help that you'll find "gardenia" sometimes associated with Tabernaemontana and "jasmine" sometimes used with Gardenia sp. and Tabernaemontana sp. Jasmine on the other hand is in yet a third family (Oleaceae). Apparently all three have sweet fragrances...
