Description:

Looks a lot like mugwort. Veins on leaves more pronounced than I expected for mugwort. Stem is woody, unlike mugwort's.

Habitat:

Chaparral, near stream/ water

Notes:

Connects to what looks like a woody root system as well, that might even connect to others of the same type.
