Field Notes

Notes:

I was walking off-tracks deep in a forest when I came across these beatiful flowers in small meadow. They were difficult to access but it was worth the hassle. Real beauties, and big enough to fit an entire big bumblebee.

You can also find more information in this blog piece I wrote on invasives last year: http://blog.projectnoah.org/post/44867000337/no-borders-taking-the-pulse-on-invasive-species-in
I would not recommended it, they disperse very quickly :-( http://www.invasivespeciesscotland.org.uk/himalayan-balsam-impatiens-glandulifera/
But they're so pretty... :-( So nit a good idea to get some for the garden then? What would happen? Would everything else be smothered?
This plant is unfortunately an invasive species now present across much of the Northern Hemisphere.
