Description:

This is a strange spotting. Is this a moth? I thought it might be a type of "Clearwing" moth with its wings folded in. (Unsure of size, but no greater than 1 1/4 inches.) This ID has been DRIVING ME CRAZY! HA!

Habitat:

Meadow in the Poconos.

Thanks so much! I have been searching moths! It is a strange beetle, but you are correct! THANKS AGAIN everyone!
Latimeria is right, it's definitely a rove beetle. It looks a lot like Platydracus maculosus. I couldn't find a common name, though.
Looks like some species of rove beetle to me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rove_beetle.
This is a real mystery bug for me. It is bugging me that I don't know what it could be. Distress call again! HA!
