Field Notes

Description:

Endemic to Socotra. About 20cm from head to tail, capable of extreme colour change.

Habitat:

Shrubland, up to 1000m

Notes:

The only chameleon species on the island. I was lucky enough to see it thanks to the help of a guide. It was a light green when we first spotted it but turned almost black and then a dark green and finally back to light green, its resting colour.
