Field Notes
Description:
Similar to a curlew but smaller and with distinctive head pattern comprising of two dark lateral stripes over an otherwise pale crown. Presense also detected by bubbling call, usually comprising seven notes descending slightly in pitch from start to finish.
Habitat:
Found on coasts. Widespread passage migrant. Winters in small numbers.
