red cap with white "warts" (veil remnants), white stem

Habitat:

grass next to mixed woods of hemlock, spruce, douglas fir, red alder

Notes:

These mushrooms are so iconic--I love them when they are young and such brilliant red.

Gorgeous color, and perfect spacing of the warts. One of the nicest i've ever seen. and GeoLeo42 ...... thet can be eaten if cooked properly otherwise quite toxic. Too much trouble to cook them so most people don't eat them
