Field Notes

Description:

North American native, this guy was spotted in New Port Richey, in a residential community. I kept noticing her flying low around the houses there, so I made it a point to note her favorite tree.

By the third day, she was used to my presence photographing the Sandhill Crane babies, so I was able to finally get in a few good shots of her. The inflight shot being my favorite.

Habitat:

Woodlands, Inland

Great capture! Their feather pattern is fantastic! We don't get these guys here in CO. I'd love you to add this to the mission Raptors of North America: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627557
