Field Notes

Description:

Flower approximately 2 cm wide. Fine, frilly leaflets.

Habitat:

Dry, grassy hillside. Very sunny location.

Notes:

Also known as Flor de Muerto or Cempaxochitl.

This may also be described as Tagetes patula or Tagetes tenuifolia, but I am looking for confirmation on this information.

Will concur with marigold, this is the delicious kind, the flowers have a citrus aroma and flavor.
I would say Marigold for sure, Tagetes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagetes
The leaves are not right for a nasturtium. I am wondering it this is some form of wild or feral marigold.
