Field Notes

Description:

SHHH! The baby is sleeping in the leaf. Don't wake her up. Unknown caterpillar (not an asteroid) spotted within 15 feet of Yellow Asteroid Caterpillar spotting. It was active until I started petting it, then it curled up on the leaf. This is the 2nd sighting of this caterpillar (first one was Oct. 18th).

Habitat:

Meadow in the Poconos

Notes:

This caterpillar's usual color is dull brown. But other colors do exist. Yellow is unusual.
