Eastern Tailed Blue Butterflies

A very tiny butterfly (21 - 29 mm; 0.83 -1.1 inches) with wings completely outstretched. The butterflies feed on various legumes. They secrete a substance that some ant species eat and in return protect the butterfly larvae from predators. Males have darker blue wings, while females light blue. Dots of orange seen on closed wings. (Colors vary from blues, purples, tans, charcoal, even pink.)
