harsuame, aunque los flores parecen un poco, este no es una orquidea. Este arbol es en la familia Lecythidaceae, que tambien contiene la nuez de Brasil/nuez amazónica, Bertholetia excelsa. No hay arboles en la familia Orchidaceae.

You summed them up nicely! I think if it was possible to cross an orchid with a sea anemone, the result would be something like this.
