Egret

I'm not expert in USA birds but you have the following white water birds in that family, in size order, largest first: 1. Great Blue Heron, white morph, L38 W70 yellow bill & legs 2. Great White Egret, L32 W55 yellow bill, black legs 3. Reddish Egret, white form, L25 W46, pink bill with black tip, grey legs 4. Little Blue hero, immature, L22 W 41, blue bill wit dark tip, green legs 5. Snowy Egret, L20 W38 black bill & legs, yellow feet 6. Cattle Egret. non-breeding/immature L17 W37 yellow bill, black legs L = length in inches, W = wing span in inches By comparison Canada Geese can be very variable in size from 3 to 6! There are some quite good, inexpensive pocket cameras with good zoom which take good pictures, the early lumix TZ series are dropping in price as the newer models hit the shelves. I use a TZ7 which I carry in the pocket most of the time for some of my shots..

Hi Melissa, any idea which Egret type it is, did you notice the bill colour and leg colour for example. Would you say it was smaller or larger than a Goose? By the way, you seem to have a cover over your camera/phone, you might get a better picture with it removed.
