Description:

Interesting configuration up about 6ft from the ground in mixed woodland above my house. Fruitbodies can be up to 25cm long by 15cm wide and 12cm thick. Bracket form - broadly attached - semi-circular to elongate, convex to flat, hard and woody. Upper can become very dark - charred appearance. Pores 5 to 6per mm. brown layered - perennial.

Habitat:

Fruits on Damp hardwood and stumps.
