Description:

One quick photo from a beginner (me) and it flew off. I never saw one like this again. I was wondering if I would ever find an ID on this. Late Summer. Red eyes and red on the antennae and very bright shiny wings. (1/4 inch?)

Habitat:

Meadow in the Poconos

I just guessed. Actually I thought smaller, but thought I was safe at 1/2 inch. I barely remember this photo with all the other ones. Thanks. It is a start.
Looks like a Fruit Fly - Eutreta sp. except a 1/2 in. would be very large for this!
