Field Notes

Description:

Is this a a typical fly or something really special. About 3/4 inch. It has a long stinger.

Habitat:

On the detached garage/workshop siding near the meadow.

Notes:

Using a flash just far enough away on macro x 3 really did the trick since it was just about to rain.

Of course it's special ;) I can't be certain but I believe it's a type of Flesh Fly (Sarcophagidae family). There are a lot to choose from! I could be wrong though. Flies are tricky.
